President spokesperson Vincent Magwenya says Cyril Ramaphosa had no knowledge that a person of interest to South African authorities was present during his recent trip to Zimbabwe.
Magwenya confirmed that the Presidency became aware of reports after the visit, indicating that an individual wanted by law enforcement in South Africa had attended the meeting.
Ramaphosa travelled to Zimbabwe on Sunday for discussions with Emmerson Mnangagwa, with talks taking place at Mnangagwa’s private farm and focusing on bilateral relations between the two countries.

The visit has since drawn attention following revelations that businessman Wicknell Chivayo was among those present. Chivayo’s assets have been frozen in South Africa, and he is currently under investigation by the Hawks for alleged money laundering.
Magwenya addressed the matter during a media briefing held in Parliament on Wednesday, stating that the Presidency had taken note of the developments.
