The Polokwane Magistrates Court has postponed the case against Tshwane Metro Police Department officer Peter Nonyane and his wife, Charlotte Tibane-Nonyane.
The couple is facing two counts of fraud and two counts of money laundering. They will remain in custody until their formal bail application on 21 August.

Tshwane Metro Police Officer Faces Fraud Charges
Nonyane, 36, who is known as Gagash, was arrested in Pretoria on Friday. His wife, who runs a law firm in Polokwane, handed herself over to police on Monday. The Hawks allege that about R1.75 million was unlawfully withdrawn from the bank account of a deceased estate.

The money allegedly belonged to one of Tibane-Nonyane’s deceased clients. Investigators allege that a substantial portion of the funds was used to buy a pre-owned luxury vehicle valued at R1.6 million from a Pretoria dealership. The alleged transactions are said to have prejudiced the estate and its lawful beneficiaries.
The Hawks are continuing with the investigation into the alleged fraud and money laundering. Nonyane and Tibane-Nonyane are expected back in court on 21 August for their formal bail application. The accused will remain in custody until then.
