Police have instructed National Coloured Congress (NCC) leader and Member of Parliament Fadiel Adams to present himself at a police station, confirming he is now a wanted individual.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) said a warrant for Adams’ arrest has been issued by the Political Killings Task Team (PKTT), linking him to allegations of fraud and defeating the ends of justice.

Authorities allege that Adams interfered with an active investigation into the murder of former ANC Youth League leader Sindiso Magaqa, a case that has drawn significant national attention.

According to police, the alleged interference took place during a crucial phase of the investigation and involved a convicted hitman connected to the case.

National police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe confirmed that arrangements had initially been made for Adams to surrender voluntarily.

“SAPS has a J50 warrant of arrest for Mr Adams. The warrant of arrest relates to serious allegations that he interfered with ongoing investigations into the matter of the late ANC Youth League leader, Mr Sindiso Magaqa.

“Arrangements were made with his attorney to hand himself over on Monday at the Cape Town Central Police Station, but as of now, he has not cooperated.”

Law enforcement officials say Adams has yet to honour the agreement to hand himself in and are now calling on him to do so without further delay.

“The SAPS urges Mr Adams to cooperate with law enforcement and hand himself over at his nearest police station without delay,” Mathe added.

The case continues to unfold as police intensify efforts to secure Adams’ cooperation and advance the investigation.
