A devastating car crash on the R40 road near Kapama in Hoedspruit, Limpopo, has claimed the lives of 13 individuals. On Saturday, a Toyota Quantum and a Ford Ranger collided, resulting in both vehicles being completely engulfed in flames.
The victims, who were trapped inside, tragically lost their lives at the scene.
Limpopo Premier spokesperson Thilivhali Muavha confirmed that only three passengers from the Ford Ranger survived the crash, sustaining injuries and being taken to the hospital for treatment.

Authorities believe that all ten victims in the Toyota Quantum, including the driver, are from Mpumalanga.
Governments Collaborate to Identify the Victims
In response to this heartbreaking incident, both the Limpopo and Mpumalanga provincial governments have launched a coordinated effort to identify the deceased.
A specialized team, made up of officials from the Department of Health and the Department of Transport and Community Safety, has been established by the Limpopo government.
This team will work closely with their counterparts in Mpumalanga to facilitate the identification process. To ensure that the deceased are returned to their families with dignity, DNA testing will be conducted to confirm their identities.
Identification Process Underway
The task team is set to begin the identification process on Tuesday. Officials are determined to swiftly and respectfully handle the tragic task of identifying the victims and returning them to their loved ones.
