The uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) party has moved quickly to address a series of controversial posts by Commander Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla on social media platform X. Zuma-Sambudla’s remarks, which directly targeted the party’s Secretary-General, have sparked outrage within the party leadership.
The posts have been deemed offensive, violating the party’s disciplinary code, and are described by MK as “unacceptable, divisive, denigrating, and offensive.” The MK Party has made it clear that such behaviour goes against the values of unity and discipline the organization stands for.
Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla Ordered to Issue Public Apology
In response to the posts, MK Party President Jacob Zuma has demanded that Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla issue an unconditional public apology. She is required to apologize to the Secretary-General, the party president, members, supporters, and the broader South African public.

The apology must also be extended to all party structures that she serves in or leads. The party is taking this matter seriously and has emphasized that failure to comply with these demands will lead to severe consequences.

Disciplinary Action and Membership at Risk
The MK Party will initiate an internal disciplinary process to address the issue formally. The party has made it clear that if Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla fails to meet the conditions set by the leadership, her membership may be terminated, and she could be removed from all party responsibilities.
The MK Party has reiterated the importance of maintaining discipline and accountability, stressing that all members—regardless of rank—must adhere to the principles outlined in its Constitution and Code of Conduct.
