A previously unseen photograph showing several individuals whose names have featured prominently in the Madlanga Commission’s proceedings has been presented as evidence.
The image shows the late taxi boss Jothan “Mswazi” Msibi alongside Jabu Mthetwa, known as “King Nyambose”, Ignatius Mothakati, Steve Motsumi and Katiso “KT” Molefe.
The photograph was presented at the Madlanga Commission as testimony continued around alleged links between individuals identified during the hearings and the so-called “Big Five” cartel.
The individuals pictured have each been mentioned during the commission’s proceedings, with various testimonies detailing alleged connections between them.
‘King Nyambose’ Name Emerges In Lebeya Evidence
The photograph emerged as questions were also raised about the identity and connections of “King Nyambose”.
The commission heard that Malcolm X had sent a text message to former Hawks head Lieutenant-General Godfrey Lebeya, telling him that King Nyambose had thanked him for his efforts.

The message referred to police being sent to the home of Katiso Molefe on 6 December 2024.
Lebeya told the commission that he did not know why Malcolm X had referred to King Nyambose in the message and maintained that he had never met the individual.
Madlanga Commission Questions Lebeya’s Knowledge
The commission said the impression created by the communication was that Lebeya knew who King Nyambose was.
Lebeya, however, said he had no personal knowledge of the man and had never met him.

The exchange forms part of the commission’s broader examination of alleged relationships between people whose names have repeatedly surfaced during testimony concerning the so-called Big Five cartel.
The photograph provides a visual record of several of the individuals whose names have featured in the proceedings, although the commission continues to hear evidence about the nature of their alleged connections.
