The Umkhonto Wesizwe (MK) Party has unveiled another round of leadership changes, announcing a significant reshuffle of its top leadership during an event in Durban on Tuesday evening.
Among the most notable changes, the party removed Nkosinathi Nhleko from his position as national chairperson and appointed Reverend Phakathi as his successor.
The reshuffle also saw John Hlophe relieved of his responsibilities as the party’s first deputy president. However, he will continue serving as the MK Party’s parliamentary leader.
Duduzane Zuma Appointed As MK Party First Deputy President
Duduzane Zuma, the son of MK Party president Jacob Zuma, has been named as the party’s new first deputy president, taking over the position previously held by Hlophe.
The party also announced changes to its second deputy president position, with Nomsa Dlamini removed from the role and Lindiwe Mtshali appointed as her replacement.
The appointments form part of the latest restructuring of the party’s national leadership.
