A Durban businessman facing charges of human trafficking, kidnapping and sexual assault is expected to continue his bail application at the local magistrate’s court on Tuesday.
The State is opposing his application for bail, with prosecutors linking the charges to a raid conducted at a property in Durban North in 2022.
The court has also imposed a temporary ban on the publication of the businessman’s identity until he enters a plea.

The businessman is facing several serious criminal charges, including human trafficking, kidnapping and sexual assault.
The State has indicated that it will oppose his release on bail.
According to the State, the charges stem from a raid at a Durban North property in 2022.

The case has also featured in evidence presented before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry and Parliament’s Ad Hoc Committee.
