Two suspects wanted for the murder and robbery of an elderly couple in Glen have been apprehended in Bloemhof.
The Provincial Serious and Violent Crimes Unit received intelligence-led information on the whereabouts of the wanted suspects responsible for the gruesome murders of the Morrison elderly couple.
Working in collaboration with the Welkom Tactical Response Team, the authorities proceeded to a guesthouse in Bloemhof at 23:00 on Friday, May 10, 2024.

It was there that the two male suspects, aged 39 and 26, were arrested. Upon their arrest, the suspects were found to be in possession of two cellphones belonging to the victims.
The suspects are now set to appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court, where they will face charges of house robbery and two counts of murder. The victims, Mr. Christo Morrison, aged 76, and Mrs. Crista Morrison, aged 73, tragically lost their lives in this heinous crime.
Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane, the Free State Provincial Commissioner, commended the exceptional investigative work carried out by the team.
She also expressed her gratitude for the numerous calls received from the community, which provided valuable information in this case.
