Police in Vosloorus have confirmed that businessman Mazwi Kubekha has been located alive, bringing an end to a month-long search that gripped the local community.
Kubekha, a 27-year-old spaza shop owner, was last seen at Marimba Gardens before he disappeared under unclear circumstances.
It is alleged that he left early that morning to deposit money at the bank but never arrived at his destination.
Police Investigation Into Mazwi Kubekha Disappearance Continues
Authorities are still working to establish what led to Kubekha’s disappearance, with early claims suggesting it may be linked to a dispute involving his business.
Gauteng police spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi confirmed that Kubekha presented himself at the Vosloorus police station on Saturday night.
“At this stage, the circumstances surrounding the missing person case are still sketchy, and police investigations are underway.”

In the days leading up to his return, residents of Vosloorus and the wider Ekurhuleni area, alongside political parties, staged protests calling for his safe return.
The case also drew attention at a national level, with Minister in the Presidency Khumbudzo Ntshavheni confirming that national crime intelligence had been tasked with probing the disappearance.
Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi is expected to address the media on Sunday regarding the latest developments.
