A Cape Town toddler, Ziyah Jacobs, has been left devastated by the loss of her favorite teddy bear at the Tweede Nuwe Jaar celebrations, also known as the Minstrel Carnival, in Cape Town. Now, Ziyah’s family is offering a reward to anyone who finds the purple bear.

Ziyah’s grandmother, Juleiga Rorich, 66, explained that she accidentally dropped the toy while crossing Strand Street as they hurried to get home.

The teddy bear holds significant sentimental value for Ziyah, as it was given to her by her aunt when she was just two months old. Ziyah sleeps with it every night and affectionately refers to it as “My Baby.”

On the day of the incident, little Ziyah made sure they brought her beloved teddy bear along to see the Coon Carnival.

According to Rorich, the bear is an essential companion for Ziyah, and they can’t go anywhere without it. Unfortunately, amidst the busyness of the day, the toy was accidentally dropped.

When Rorich realized the bear was missing, a frantic search began. She searched everywhere, even in the bins, but to no avail. Rorich expressed her determination, saying, “I couldn’t believe it, and I looked everywhere.

Ziyah, understandably upset, did not even sleep on Tuesday night. The loss of her cherished teddy bear has deeply affected her. To recover the toy, the family is appealing to anyone who may have found it to please contact them.

As a token of their appreciation, they are offering a small reward to anyone who can help them find the missing teddy bear.

Losing a beloved toy can be distressing, especially for a young child like Ziyah. The attachment children form with their favorite toys often goes beyond the physical object itself. These toys provide comfort, security, and companionship, becoming an integral part of a child’s daily life.

It is heartwarming to see the efforts made by Ziyah’s family to find her missing teddy bear. Their determination and willingness to offer a reward demonstrate the significance of this toy in Ziyah’s life.
