However, she remains unfazed, stating, “The case is still pending. But I am so good with myself that I don’t even care anymore.”

Unathi acknowledges the time it takes for such legal matters to be resolved, but she is no longer emotionally affected by it. She has moved forward, yet she remains committed to fighting for justice and empowering women in the corporate world.

As she looks ahead to the high court proceedings, she envisions Kaya 959 having to justify their decision to terminate her employment over a simple request for punctuality.
She humorously remarks, “Iyahlekisa and iyahlebisa! If your contract starts at 15:00, you can’t walk in at 15:04, especially for radio, three times a week, and get upset that I am telling you that you’re late.”
Unathi’s focus for the coming year extends beyond the courtroom. She has set ambitious goals for herself, including paying off her house as a birthday present and investing in properties for her children.
Additionally, she is working on a documentary titled “30 Years of the Madiba Shirt” with renowned designer Tat’Ndamase. The documentary marks the milestone between 1994 and 2024, from political icon to fashion icon, coinciding with the voting year.
Unathi’s plans don’t stop there. She is collaborating with Tat’Ndamase on a reality show, where young designers will have the opportunity to be mentored and create a 30th-anniversary shirt.
With the guidance of industry professionals like Asanda Madyibi, Mzukisi Mbane, and Andiswa Manxiwa, Unathi aims to nurture talent and leave a lasting impact on the fashion industry.
But amidst all the hustle and bustle, Unathi knows the importance of taking time for herself. Her well-deserved downtime will be spent in the beautiful paradise of Zanzibar, where she can recharge and reflect on her journey.
