South African radio personality, Anele Mdoda, took to Twitter to express her disappointment and anger towards Uber after one of their drivers robbed her make-up artist. In a series of tweets, she narrated the horrifying incident where her make-up artist was abused and robbed by the driver.
“My make-up artist was robbed inside an Uber!!!! Guys, stop taking Uber. He requested an Uber to Kempton Park. The Uber driver stops and lets three armed men in. They drive him to Alex, tie him up, and clean out his bank accounts!!!!!” she wrote.

However, what further irked Anele was Uber’s response to the situation. According to her, Uber claimed they couldn’t do anything about it and considered it a dead end.
“Your trusted Uber says they can’t do anything. They say it’s a dead end. Yeah, the dead part is us!!!!!!” Anele Mdoda added.
Anele’s friends and followers sympathized with her and offered suggestions on how she could hold the company accountable.
One Twitter user shared a similar experience: “It’s not safe. This happened to me exactly with ‘cops’ in Pretoria. Those cops will not see heaven. Luckily, their friends were arrested for the same thing.”
Incidents like these raise concerns about the safety and security measures for Uber drivers and passengers. While Uber has revolutionized the way we travel, the company must address these issues and ensure the safety of its users.
