Slain Anti-Gang Unit officer Thapelo Tlometsane will be laid to rest in his home province of Limpopo on Sunday. Tlometsane was shot dead earlier this month alongside his colleague Siphiwe Sibeko during an ambush in Reiger Park. Sibeko was buried in Springs on Saturday.
Police used Sibeko’s funeral service to renew their appeal for communities to work with law enforcement in the fight against crime. Acting National Police Commissioner Puleng Dimpane described the killing as unacceptable and said investigations into the attack were progressing.

Police believe alleged gangster Regan Collis may not have acted alone when the officers were killed. Collis has been arrested and faces charges linked to the murders of the two police officers and two women who were killed on the same night.
Reiger Park Police Killings Under Investigation
Deputy Police Minister Polly Boshielo described the killings as an assault on the state. Police have continued with investigations into the circumstances surrounding the attack.
The death of Tlometsane has now brought attention to Limpopo, where his family, friends and colleagues will gather to pay their final respects. His funeral follows the burial of Sibeko in Springs on Saturday.
