Cell C, a leading telecommunications company, recently made two significant executive promotions within its organization. Zia Sadik has been promoted to the position of Executive Head: Growth and Retentions, while Denver Alwar has been appointed as the new Executive Head: Regional Operations.
Zia Sadik joined Cell C in August 2022 as the head of customer value management (CVM). In his newly-created role as the Executive Head: Growth and Retentions, Sadik will report directly to the as-yet unannounced Chief Growth Officer, who is expected to join the company next year.
Since joining Cell C, Sadik has played a pivotal role in revitalizing the CVM function. He has implemented streamlined governance structures, restructured teams, and clarified roles and responsibilities.

Cell C expressed its confidence in Sadik’s abilities, stating, “He delivered simplified portfolios, overseen crucial systems migration, and bolstered our CVM capabilities, which has contributed to revenue growth.”
Denver Alwar, who previously held the position of Executive Head of Sales, Distribution, and Regions, has now been appointed as the Executive Head: of Regional Operations.
Alwar’s extensive leadership experience and excellent credentials in telecoms sales and distribution, spanning Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East, make him a valuable addition to the executive team.
In his new role, Alwar will report directly to the as-yet-unannounced Chief Sales, Distribution, and Regions Officer, who is also expected to join Cell C next year. Cell C emphasized Alwar’s operational background in the Retail and FMCG sectors and his strong commercial capability.
