Deputy Police Minister Cassel Mathale has called for an urgent investigation into allegations that a member of the MK Party forged signatures in order to meet the requirements for registering for the upcoming elections.

Mathale, speaking to Eyewitness News, stated that investigators are working swiftly to uncover the truth behind these accusations.

Mathale emphasized the importance of conducting elections with integrity and ensuring that voters have the opportunity to choose leaders who are honest.

He highlighted the significance of resolving this matter before the voting period begins, as allowing people to express themselves on a fraudulent platform would undermine the democratic process.

“With the upcoming elections, it is crucial that people have the chance to participate and express their views.

“Starting from the 27th, special votes will take place, and by the 29th, the general public will have the opportunity to cast their votes. It is imperative that this matter is resolved promptly to ensure a fair and transparent electoral process,” Mathale stated.
