Floyd Shivambu has been appointed by the MK Party as the new secretary general in succession to Sfiso Maseko, who resigned last week to return to his position at the Gauteng Health Department.
Jacob Zuma affirmed in a statement that Shivambu’s appointment is consistent with the party constitution. Shivambu, once the EFF’s deputy president, now holds crucial positions in the fast-rising party, signalling a strategic shift in leadership.
Shivambu joined the MK Party after leaving the Economic Freedom Fighters in August. He had previously held the post of national organizer.

The MK’s Head of Presidency, Magasela Mzobe, stated that Shivambu’s appointment is effective immediately.
