A woman from Limpopo has been arrested for allegedly murdering her nephew after he attempted to rape her. A 51-year-old lady has been detained in connection with her nephew’s murder.

Her nephew allegedly broke into her home while she was bathing and attempted to rape her. On Saturday, a murder occurred in Dan Village, Limpopo.

“According to the information received, the deceased went to the aunt’s place and found her bathing.

“He forcefully wanted to sleep with his aunt, and the aunt furiously assaulted him with a steel iron and stone on his head,” said police spokesperson Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba.

Mashaba told reporters that the individual was immediately brought to the nearest hospital, where a doctor on duty certified him dead.

The event was reported to police, and the investigation resulted in the aunt’s arrest on Sunday. She was arrested and charged with murder.

Meanwhile, police in Vredendal, Western Cape, are looking into the death of a woman. In October, she was allegedly strangled to death in her bed.

According to reports, the woman spent Thursday night drinking at home with her mother and boyfriend before going to bed. The pair discovered her lifeless body a few hours later.

“A 20-year-old suspect was arrested the same night for the murder,” police spokesperson FC Van Wyk said.

Nadine Klaase was discovered with scratches on her face and body, a bloodied nose, and a shoelace tied around her neck, according to gender-based campaigner Bianca du Toit, who has been aiding the mourning family.
