A strong thunderstorm damaged municipal offices, schools, and businesses in Mkhondo, Mpumalanga.
The storm also caused power outages in the area, and several trees were uprooted.
Mkhondo Municipality spokesperson Howard Vilakazi said that disaster management personnel are actively examining the damage.
“What happened is that we were hit hard by a storm yesterday. Where in majority of properties including our offices were badly damaged.

“We have now issued an instruction to councillors to quantify the damages so that at 11 we would converge to assess the extent of the damage and perhaps be able to give you full details of what has transpired.
“Trees were uprooted including roofs of house holds its a lot for now,” said Vilakazi.
