An alleged gangster is expected to appear before the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday in connection with the killing of two anti-gang unit officers in Reiger Park.
The officers were shot while responding to another shooting incident in the area, where two women were killed.
Police subsequently arrested a suspect who is allegedly known to be a gangster and was out on bail when he was taken into custody.

According to police, the suspect has several pending cases, including two murder charges, two counts of attempted murder and a case involving possession of an unlicensed firearm.

The two anti-gang unit officers had been responding to a shooting when they were attacked. The incident has led to further investigations into the violence in Reiger Park.
Two R5 rifles were also recovered at the KwaDukathole Informal Settlement as part of the investigation.
