Master KG, the South African music producer, known for his hit song “Jerusalema,” recently took to social media to express his frustration with his former music company, Open Mic Productions.

While he typically remains calm and avoids discussing personal matters online, this time, he couldn’t stay silent any longer.

In a Facebook post, Master KG referred to Open Mic Productions as “one of the most selfish people” he has ever worked with.

He explained that he usually avoids airing his grievances on social media but felt compelled to speak out due to the company’s long-standing questionable behaviour.

Master KG’s statement quickly gained attention, with over 2000 comments on his post. This isn’t the first time Open Mic Productions has faced criticism, as fellow artists Nomcebo Zikode and Makhadzi have also spoken out about the company’s exploitative practices.

The three artists have since decided to part ways with Open Mic Productions and establish their own independent labels. This move highlights the growing trend among artists to take control of their careers and protect their interests.

While Master KG may be known primarily for his music, his bold statement against Open Mic Productions shows that he’s not afraid to stand up for what he believes in.

It’s a reminder that behind the catchy tunes and infectious beats, real people are facing real challenges in the music industry.
