Master KG, the talented South African artist, achieved great success with his hit song “Keneilwe.” However, the song was surprisingly snubbed by Phala Phala FM on its Top 20 songs list, sparking a wave of emotions and raising questions about the radio station’s decision.
The news of the snub didn’t sit well with many, including Mpho Mashabela, the chairperson of Limpopo Artists Movement. Mashabela expressed his disappointment, stating, “What happened is just pure nonsense, the whole radio station just sidelined Master KG.
Phala Phala FM is not taking us forward but backwards. We as the Limpopo Artists Movement are really disappointed.”

Released just before the festive season, “Keneilwe” quickly gained millions of views and streams, making its exclusion from the Top 20 list even more baffling.
Mashabela also criticized Phala Phala FM for not supporting the legendary Dan Tshanda, suggesting that the radio station should have recognized his contributions.
Adding fuel to the fire, Mashabela pointed out that some artists had multiple songs in the Top 20, while Master KG was only given one spot. Frustrated by the perceived unfairness, Mashabela declared, “We are just going to boycott their Song of the Year competition.”
The controversy surrounding Phala Phala FM’s decision has ignited a passionate response from fans and artists alike.
Many are questioning the radio station’s judgment and expressing their support for Master KG. It remains to be seen how this snub will impact the relationship between the radio station and the Limpopo Artists Movement.
