Two Tshwane Metro Police officers have been dismissed for misconduct. The City of Tshwane has taken decisive action following numerous complaints from residents in the Greater Centurion area.
For many years, the two officers were described as a “source of terror” for residents. Persistent allegations and reports of their actions led to a formal disciplinary process.
The community’s dissatisfaction with the officers’ behaviour had reached a tipping point, necessitating immediate intervention.

On Monday, the disciplinary process culminated in a guilty verdict for both officers. They were found to have engaged in conduct unbecoming of law enforcement personnel.
Their actions were deemed a gross violation of the ethical standards expected of members of the Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD).
Grandi Theunissen, Tshwane MMC for Community Safety, emphasized the city’s zero tolerance for any form of misconduct, corruption, or abuse of power within its ranks.
He stated, “Through their actions, these individuals have not only betrayed the trust of the community but have also undermined the reputation and integrity of the TMPD. Their continued presence in the force would pose a significant threat to the community and the values we uphold.”
The dismissal of these officers is a vital step towards restoring the community’s trust in the TMPD. It sends a clear message that unethical behaviour will not be tolerated and that the safety and well-being of residents remain a top priority.
