The grandparents of missing Limpopo toddler Omphile Sithole are expected to return to court on Monday to formally apply for bail.
Vinolia Mabuela and Jacob Ledwaba, the child’s paternal grandparents, are due to appear before the Mahwelereng Magistrate’s Court in Mokopane, Limpopo. The pair are facing a charge of child neglect linked to the disappearance of the two-year-old girl.
Omphile vanished during the early hours of 2 May after she reportedly disappeared from her room. Despite ongoing search efforts and police investigations, the toddler has still not been located.
Limpopo Court To Hear Bail Application In Omphile Sithole Case
The accused were previously remanded in custody following their first appearance at the Mahwelereng Magistrate’s Court last Monday.
During proceedings, the State argued that the pair would need to provide compelling reasons to support their release on bail.
