Delegates attending this year’s Africa Travel Indaba have been encouraged to use the three-day event to forge partnerships and secure business agreements aimed at strengthening tourism across the continent.

The annual trade show, taking place in Durban, is being held under the theme, “Unlimited Africa, Growing Africa’s Tourism Economy.” It is recognised as Africa’s largest tourism showcase and draws together key players from across the global travel industry.

This year’s event has attracted local and international buyers, investors and more than 1,200 exhibitors representing over 20 African countries, providing a significant platform for networking and commercial opportunities.

Speaking at the official opening on Tuesday, Patricia De Lille called on participants to make the most of the event by turning discussions into concrete business opportunities.

“And we have over 1200 exhibitors on the floor today (Tuesday) and I know you want to get out there with more than 1000 buyers from 71 countries around the world. It is time to make a deal, it is time to draw business on the floor.”
