"When you think it’s over, it starts again, so you must stay away, for your mental health, and wait for God’s time. God is not a man that he should lie, so you remain and hold on to that and trust the process.”

Songstress and reality TV star Kelly Khumalo has briefly opened up about the ongoing Senzo Meyiwa murder trial. The trial, which has been televised, centres around the tragic death of her late ex-lover, Senzo Meyiwa.

In a recent interview on the isiZulu radio station Ukhozi FM, Kelly Khumalo revealed that she no longer watches the trial.

“When asked about it, she explained, “I used to in the beginning, but not anymore because for me to keep sane and for me to remain in a place of faith and trusting God, I have to stay away from the noise and wait for God to prevail.”

The Ngathwala Ngaye hitmaker also shared that the trial serves as a painful reminder. “It becomes a reminder of something that didn’t sit right with you at all.

“When you think it’s over, it starts again, so you must stay away, for your mental health, and wait for God’s time. God is not a man that he should lie, so you remain and hold on to that and trust the process,” she said.

Senzo Meyiwa, a former Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper, was tragically shot and killed on October 26, 2014, at Kelly Khumalo’s family home in Vosloorus, Gauteng.

Kelly Khumalo and Senzo Meyiwa were dating before the footballer’s death.

The incident involved several individuals, including Kelly Khumalo, her sister Zandile, Zandile’s boyfriend Longwe Twala, their mother Ntombi Khumalo, and two of Meyiwa’s friends, Mthokozisi Thwala and Tumelo Madlala.

During the trial, Kelly Khumalo was implicated as the person who allegedly ordered Meyiwa’s killing. Cellphone analysis revealed connections between her and the accused. However, she maintains her innocence.

Despite the ongoing trial, Kelly Khumalo has remained focused on her music career. She recently announced the deluxe version of her last album and released a new music video.
