National Coloured Congress leader Fadiel Adams is unlikely to take the witness stand before the Madlanga Commission on Tuesday, despite being scheduled to appear under subpoena.
The commission confirmed the development in a statement issued ahead of Adams’ expected appearance.

“Given the significant public interest in the appearance of Mr Fadiel Adams before the Madlanga Commission, we deem it appropriate to inform the public that whilst Mr Adams is scheduled to appear under subpoena this (Tuesday) morning, he is unlikely to testify today,” said the commission’s spokesperson, Jeremy Michaels.
Michaels said the commission’s evidence leaders had only received documentation from Adams late on Monday night, affecting the likelihood of his testimony going ahead.
Madlanga Commission Receives Fadiel Adams’ Affidavit Late
“The Commission’s evidence leaders only received a sworn affidavit and related annexures from Mr Adams after 2100 last (Monday) night.”
Adams was expected to give evidence about his involvement in the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC)’s controversial investigation into alleged corruption within Crime Intelligence.
His appearance comes amid scrutiny of allegations involving the use of secret funds by members of the Political Killings Task Team (PKTT).
Fadiel Adams’ IDAC Whistleblower Report
In 2024, Adams submitted a whistleblower report to IDAC, calling on the unit to investigate allegations that the PKTT was abusing the secret services account.

He alleged that money from the covert pool was being used by the PKTT to pay for expensive hotel accommodation and purchase luxury vehicles.
The commission has not indicated when Adams is now expected to testify.
