Controversial media personality Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye is expected to return to court on Monday, with uncertainty still surrounding the charges that will be pursued against him.
Maarohanye appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court for the first time last week after being arrested in connection with an incident involving an e-hailing driver.
According to police, the driver had just dropped off a female passenger at a residence in Edenvale when Maarohanye allegedly confronted him.

Investigators said the suspect accused the driver of being romantically involved with his girlfriend.
Following his arrest, Maarohanye was initially charged with kidnapping, discharging a firearm and pointing an object believed to be a firearm.
Before appearing before a magistrate, he approached the Johannesburg High Court seeking bail, citing concerns that there could be delays in his court appearance.

The High Court granted his application and ordered that he be released on bail of R5,000.
The matter was postponed to Monday to allow investigators additional time to continue their probe.

However, the latest court roll alert issued by the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) lists only one charge against Maarohanye — pointing an object likely to be a firearm.
Prosecutors have not yet clarified whether the kidnapping and firearm discharge charges have been withdrawn or whether they remain part of the ongoing investigation.
