Mbalula Calls On ANC To Take Action Against Zuma Swiftly, Not "Leave It Hanging On".

In a recent statement, ANC Secretary General Fikile Mbalula emphasized that the party has done nothing to former president Jacob Zuma. Mbalula shared these sentiments during the funeral of five ANC members who tragically lost their lives in a bus crash while en route to the party’s 112th-anniversary celebrations in Mbombela, Mpumalanga.

The crash occurred on the R71 in Makgobakloof outside Tzaneen, resulting in the deaths of Mashao Setabola, Mosima Makganyoga, Mapula Rakubu, Magret Rakubu, and Manti Mafomo.

During an interview with the SABC in Botlokwa outside Polokwane, Mbalula expressed his belief that the ANC’s National Executive Committee (NEC) should decide Zuma’s status sooner rather than later.

He stated, “I have said this on behalf of the ANC many times that the ANC will pronounce and when it meets at the NEC it will deal with that because it is not a matter that you would leave hanging on.”

Referring to Zuma’s statement about leaving the ANC but remaining a member, Mbalula explained that the party would address the situation. He also mentioned that although Zuma has mobilized against the ANC, the party will meet on the ground to counter his claims.

Mbalula stressed that the ANC, as a self-respecting party in government, should focus on its agenda rather than spending time on the opposition. President Zuma’s presence in Limpopo, where he is campaigning for the uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MK Party), was also highlighted by Mbalula.

He stated that Zuma’s involvement in the upcoming elections is part of the ANC’s DNA. Mbalula acknowledged that while Zuma may be on the other side, it is not a cause for concern, as he has a political party to support and campaign for.

Mbalula emphasized the importance of the ANC’s commitment to the people of South Africa. As the ANC prepares for the elections, Mbalula reassured the public that any distortions made will be rectified.

He emphasized the party’s focus on delivering on its promises to the people and ensuring that the ANC’s agenda remains at the forefront. Mbalula’s remarks reflect the party’s determination to move forward and concentrate on the future, rather than dwelling on past leadership.

While the ANC’s stance on Zuma remains to be officially declared by the NEC, Mbalula’s comments shed light on the party’s perspective. The ANC is a party that values its integrity and commitment to the people of South Africa.

As the elections approach, the party remains focused on its agenda and aims to deliver on its promises. The presence of former President Zuma in the political landscape adds a new dynamic, but the ANC is prepared to face the challenges and continue working towards a better future for the country.
