Eastern Cape police have arrested two more suspects in connection with the murder of boxing legend Zolani Tete.
The latest arrests bring the number of people currently in police custody to four following the fatal shooting of the former champion in Mdantsane on Friday.
Tete was shot as he drove into the driveway of his home. A 27-year-old woman who was travelling with him was also wounded during the attack and remains in hospital.
Eastern Cape Police Make Further Arrests In Tete Murder
Police initially arrested two people in KuGompo City on Saturday before making three further arrests on Sunday.
The Sunday arrests were made in Mdantsane and Scenery Park, with one person arrested in Mdantsane and two in Scenery Park.
However, one of the suspects arrested on Saturday has since been released from custody.

Police said there were insufficient grounds to detain the 30-year-old further. He remains a potential witness as investigators work to establish what happened during the final moments of Tete’s life.
A 22-year-old man arrested on Saturday has since been formally charged with murder and attempted murder.
More Arrests Expected As Zolani Tete Investigation Continues
Police said the investigation remains ongoing and that further arrests are expected as detectives follow up on information linked to the shooting.
Eastern Cape police spokesperson Nobuntu Gantana urged people with credible information about the case to assist investigators.

“More arrests are expected as the investigation unfolds, and police are continuing to follow up on leads. The investigation continues as police work to establish the circumstances surrounding the attack that claimed the life of the boxing great.
