KwaZulu-Natal police have launched a manhunt for a gang of suspects who shot and killed five people and injured another at three different houses in the province. The shooting took place at Uganda informal settlement in Umlazi on Sunday night.

According to police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda, the motive behind the shootings has not yet been established. The investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances leading to this tragic incident.

Upon arriving at the first house, authorities discovered the bodies of a 32-year-old man and a woman believed to be in her early 30s. Both victims had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene.

At the second house, police found the bodies of two women aged 30 and 38, as well as the body of a 24-year-old man. All three victims had also suffered multiple gunshot wounds and were declared deceased.

Fortunately, a 32-year-old man who was shot at his house managed to survive the attack, despite sustaining multiple gunshot wounds. He was immediately rushed to the hospital for urgent medical treatment.

The police are appealing to the public for any information that could assist in identifying the perpetrators and shedding light on the motive behind the killings. They urge anyone with information to contact the Umlazi Police Station or anonymously report it via the Crime Stop number ‪08600 10111.
