Three suspects were arrested after they were caught transporting a dead body in a wheelbarrow in Isipingo, just south of Durban.
The police were alerted to the unsettling situation when they received reports of the men pushing the decomposing corpse through the streets. When officers arrived, they found the men near Pilgrim’s informal settlement, struggling to explain their actions.
Suspects Fail to Provide Explanation for Their Actions
KwaZulu-Natal Police spokesperson, Robert Netshiunda, confirmed that the men had no credible explanation for why they were transporting the body.
“They were found pushing a corpse in a wheelbarrow, and upon questioning, the suspects could not justify their actions,” Netshiunda said. The authorities believe that the men were tampering with a dead body, and their failure to cooperate led to immediate arrests.
Charges and Upcoming Court Appearance
The three men now face serious charges of tampering with a dead body and defeating the ends of justice.
