In a terrifying incident at Johannesburg’s Cresta Mall, shoppers were sent into a frenzy as armed robbers targeted a jewellery store. The chaos unfolded on Saturday when approximately 11 suspects stormed the store, causing shoppers to scatter in fear.
According to the police, the armed suspects used a crowbar and a hammer to break the store’s glass counters and gain access to the displayed jewellery. As they made their escape, the robbers fired shots indiscriminately, further adding to the panic among the shoppers.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.

The police have launched an investigation into the case, with the station’s trio crime unit leading the efforts. The suspects were seen fleeing the scene in a white Jetta and a silver Toyota Etios, which the police are now actively pursuing.
