Hospitals are working tirelessly to treat the wounded, with Soroka Medical Center in Beer Sheva, the largest town in southern Israel, taking in 140 patients, some of whom are civilians. Another hospital in Ashkelon is treating 94 victims with varying degrees of injuries.

The situation in southern Israel is dire, with gunmen opening fire on passersby in the town of Sderot. Footage of the fighting shows attacks taking place on city streets.

The Israeli military has confirmed that terrorists have infiltrated Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip, prompting residents in the surrounding areas to stay indoors for their safety.

The international community has strongly condemned the attacks, with the U.S. National Security Council spokesperson, Adrienne Watson, stating, “There is never any justification for terrorism.”

The United States stands firmly with Israel and extends condolences for the lives lost in these attacks. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan has been in contact with Israeli National Security Advisor Tzachi Hanegbi to show support and solidarity.
