Manchester City will be looking to maintain control of their Premier League title fate as they face Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday. The Cityzens could potentially be four points behind Arsenal, who will be playing Bournemouth at home earlier in the day.
However, with a match in hand, Manchester City knows that a fourth consecutive title is within their grasp if they secure maximum points.
Amidst one of the tightest title races in recent history, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola hopes that their winning experience will give them an advantage.

However, he acknowledges that they need to prove themselves in the upcoming match against Wolves and in the remaining games. Guardiola stated, “We know that to win, we need all 12 points, otherwise it will be difficult because Arsenal is so strong and consistent.”
Manchester City has been in excellent form, winning their last five league matches and outscoring their opponents 19-4 during that period.
Although their top scorer Erling Haaland has faced some minor injuries, he has managed to score in his past three league matches, taking his total to 21 goals. Guardiola confirmed that Haaland will be available for the match against Wolves.
Furthermore, Manchester City’s exit from the UEFA Champions League in the quarterfinals against Real Madrid has given them a rare full week to focus on their league fixtures. This dedicated preparation time will be an advantage as they face Wolves and in their subsequent match against Fulham next week.
Wolverhampton Wanderers had a challenging period due to a series of injuries, which resulted in a six-match winless run and a drop into the bottom half of the table. However, they have shown signs of recovery in recent weeks.
Hwang Hee-chan scored his first goal since February in their 2-1 victory against Luton Town last weekend, and Matheus Cunha provided an assist in only his second start during that period.
While Wolves’ chances of securing a place in European competitions have diminished, they still have a chance to finish in the top half of the table.
Wolves boss Gary O’Neil expressed his optimism, stating, “Hopefully, we can finish the season strongly because we are in a better position now fitness-wise. The group is in a much better place, and it will need to be because we face a fairly difficult test against Manchester City.”
