South African football is in a state of sorrow as news broke on Wednesday evening of the tragic passing of talented defender, Luke Fleurs. The 24-year-old, who recently joined Kaizer Chiefs, was fatally shot during a hijacking incident.
Although Fleurs had not yet made his official debut with Chiefs, his potential was highly regarded within the football community.
During his time with SuperSport United, he showcased glimpses of brilliance, earning him a reputation as a rising talent. Since his move from Ubuntu FC in 2018, Fleurs made 70 appearances and scored two goals for Matsatsantsa.
