After recovering from an injury, Du Preez made his return to the Chiefs’ match-day squad in their last game against Richards Bay FC. He was brought on in the second half, contributing to the team’s 1-0 victory at FNB Stadium last weekend, marking their third consecutive win.
Reflecting on the recent successes, Du Preez acknowledges the team’s hard work and expresses his desire to continue their winning mentality in their final game of the year. He states, “The three big games that we have won have been amazing for the team.

“That’s what we want, we want to continue with our winning mentality going into our last game – the last game of the year. We want to go out there and firstly enjoy ourselves and then get three points so that we end the year on a high note.
“I think for us as a team, we have been striving to do better and to win games.”
Having been sidelined due to injury since October, Du Preez is grateful for the opportunity to be back in the team. He acknowledges the setbacks and mental frustrations that come with injuries but is happy to have overcome them.
“I’m back from injury and it’s nice to be back. Injuries are a setback, it can be frustrating mentally, but it’s nice to be back. It was nice to play a few minutes in the game against Richards Bay. And I’m happy that we won the game,” he explains.
Du Preez emphasizes his commitment to contributing to the team’s success and maintaining their winning mentality. He aims to work extremely hard in the final game, ensuring that the team secures three points.
