A 36-year-old man has been arrested by the Hawks for allegedly inciting public violence through social media. This arrest underscores the authorities’ commitment to maintaining public order and enforcing the law, especially concerning cybercrimes.

According to Captain Dineo Lucy Sekgotodi, members of the Nelspruit-based Serious Organised Crime Investigation, with the assistance of Crime Intelligence, acted on information about a member of the public inciting violence.

The suspect allegedly posted inflammatory messages on social media, calling for the country to be shut down and the president to be removed. These actions led to his identification and subsequent arrest.
