Thokozani ‘L’vovo Derrango’ Ndlovu is a man of passion and perseverance, especially when it comes to his music career. Despite facing the challenges of recovering from a stroke, the 44-year-old artist remains determined to continue doing what he loves.
In 2022, L’vovo was hospitalized due to a stroke, an ordeal that he survived, but sadly, his friend Mampintsha did not.
During his recovery, L’vovo turned down several gig offers, prioritizing his health and well-being. However, in January, he finally made his triumphant return to the stage. Since then, he has been receiving bookings, including a recent concert in Umlazi, KwaZulu-Natal.

Fans are thrilled to see their beloved musician back in action, even though L’vovo himself is not putting any unnecessary pressure on himself.
A fan who attended L’vovo’s show shared their experience, saying, “We had a great time at the show. Tzozo was there, and he brought some liveliness to the performance. L’vovo’s voice is still as captivating as ever, although his body has been affected by the stroke.”
In an interview with Zimoha, Derrango expressed his gratitude for the warm reception he received from the audience. He said, “I missed performing, and it was truly amazing to feel the love from the fans.
However, I am also mindful of taking my recovery one day at a time. I can now walk, but there was a time when I couldn’t even take a step. While I know people still want to see me on stage, I understand the importance of not pushing myself too hard.”
L’vovo has been taking good care of himself by watching his diet, being mindful of his activities, getting plenty of rest, and surrounding himself with supportive friends. Their unwavering support has been a source of strength for him throughout his journey.
