The New Party on the black Mkhonto weSizwe (MK Party) is in the lead as the first results from the national and provincial elections begin to come in.
Tens of thousands of South Africans went to the polls with some polling stations voting throughout the night. The party, which was launched in December last year is enjoying surprising support.
The MK Party is currently at 38,36% followed by ANC at 32,32% and the IFP at 15%.

In KwaZulu-Natal As of 10:00 on Wednesday with 13,45% of the vote counted nationally The ANC at 42,48% (537 812) votes, followed by the DA at 26,12% and the EFF at 8,40% (106 309).
