ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula recently praised former EFF MP Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, describing him as “a good member of society and a good politician.”
This came after reports surfaced that discussions were occurring within the ANC’s Free State branch to bring Mbuyiseni Ndlozi into the party.
While Ndlozi has not officially left the EFF, he stepped down as a member of Parliament. He was not re-elected to the party’s central command team, fueling speculation about his political future.

EFF Fallout and Possible ANC Future
Ndlozi’s absence from the EFF’s December National People’s Assembly was reportedly due to a fallout with EFF leader Julius Malema.
The disagreement centred on Ndlozi’s failure to inform Malema about rumours regarding Floyd Shivambu’s departure from the party and his lack of defence for the EFF during a period of intense scrutiny.
Addressing the media, Mbalula acknowledged the potential for talks with Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, stating, “He’s a good politician, so why not talk to him? Ultimately, it’s his decision about his future.”
ANC Ready to Offer Platform to Mbuyiseni Ndlozi
Mbalula further suggested that should Ndlozi leave the EFF, the ANC would be open to his involvement.
He emphasized that Ndlozi’s expulsion from the EFF signalled his diminishing influence within the party, hinting that the ANC could offer him a platform for continued political engagement.
“If he decides to pursue the agenda of transformation and the liberation of our people, the ANC is open to that,” Mbalula said, leaving the door open for a potential shift in political allegiance.
When asked about discussions between ANC members and Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, Mbalula confirmed, “It is possible” that such conversations are happening behind the scenes.
