A devastating incident occurred in Mpumalanga on Monday morning, resulting in the death of three individuals, including a school pupil, and leaving 29 others injured.

According to reports, the accident occurred on the Kanyamazane Road, just after 7 am. The spokesperson for Emer-G-Med, Martin Jeffrey, described the scene as ‘chaotic’ upon the arrival of paramedics.

The collision involved three vehicles: a light motor vehicle, a light delivery vehicle, a school bus, and an articulated truck. Although it remains unclear who was at fault, it is evident that the school bus and the light delivery vehicle were primarily involved in the head-on collision.
The Mpumalanga tragic accident led to the death of two adults and one school pupil, who were declared deceased on the scene. Jeffrey noted that ‘there were injured schoolchildren all over’ and additional medical resources had to be called in.
The injured, including the driver of the bus, were transported to various hospitals in the Nelspruit area to receive treatment for minor to moderate injuries. The total number of injured individuals reached 29.
As of now, the South African Police Service (SAPS) is conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the accident. The community awaits further updates as officials piece together the events leading to the tragic incident.
