Following the finding of burnt remains in Nhlalakahle Trust in Masoyi, Mpumalanga police are investigating two counts of murder.

Brigadier Selvy Mohlala, a provincial police spokesperson, said residents discovered the remains of two males in their 30s on Saturday morning.

Officers were called to the area, he added, and one of the fatalities was discovered lying outside the vehicle, while the other was discovered inside a burning vehicle. Unfortunately, paramedics on the spot pronounced the individuals dead.

“Vigilantism will never be a solution to crime, and we urge communities to work hand-in-hand with us on issues of crime. One cannot correct a wrong act with another act of crime,” she said.
