The ongoing legal proceedings against the self-proclaimed prophet Paseka ‘Mboro’ Motsoeneng, his son, and his bodyguard have been rolled over to Monday next week.
The trio appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrates’ Court on charges that have garnered significant public attention.
Last week, a disturbing video circulated on social media, showing Mboro and his accomplices wielding a panga and a machine gun at teachers from Matshediso Primary School in Katlehong, Ekurhuleni.

This drastic action was purportedly taken in an attempt to remove his son’s children from their maternal grandmother’s custody. The video quickly went viral, leading to the arrest of Mboro, his son, and the bodyguard.
The incident has not gone unnoticed in the community. A week after the trio was taken into custody, Mboro’s church tent, known as Incredible Happenings, was burned to ashes by angry community members and pupils.
The situation seems to have exacerbated existing tensions arising from the custody battle between the maternal and paternal families of the two children, who have not attended school since the occurrence of the incident.
During their court appearance, the individuals faced multiple charges, including kidnapping, trespassing, assault, malicious damage to property, and possession of a dangerous firearm. Despite the gravity of these accusations, they all pleaded not guilty.
As the case has been adjourned to Monday, it remains to be seen what further legal developments will unfold. Until then, the community and the affected parties continue grappling with the unsettling event’s ramifications.
