Actress and musician Itumeleng Bokaba has decided to withdraw the rape charges she filed against music executive Nota Baloyi. However, she clarified that this does not signify the end of the matter, and she reserves the right to revisit the case if necessary.
Bokaba released a statement on February 14, announcing her decision, attributing it to her intense focus on an exciting new career opportunity. Despite the withdrawal, she emphasized that her experience remains valid and she is committed to maintaining her truth.
A New Chapter for Bokaba
The statement revealed that Bokaba’s upcoming project requires her full attention, and she’s determined to put her energy into her professional growth. “This project requires my full focus, dedication, and a positive headspace so I can give it my best,” she explained.

She expressed her enthusiasm for this unexpected opportunity and made it clear that her decision to step back from the legal proceedings is not an abandonment of her claims.

Bokaba also shared her deep gratitude for the support she’s received, thanking her followers and well-wishers for their ongoing encouragement as she embarks on this new phase of her life. “I am excited, grateful, and ready to step into the work God has placed in front of me,” she added.
The Legal Battle with Nota Baloyi
The case began when Nota Baloyi was arrested in October 2024 after he turned himself into the police. Baloyi was granted R5,000 bail after spending three nights in custody.
He vehemently denied the rape allegations, claiming the encounter was consensual and accusing Bokaba of attempting to blackmail him for music promotion. In a past interview, Baloyi argued that Bokaba initiated the sexual encounter, reinforcing his stance that the claim was invalid.
Now, following the withdrawal of charges, Baloyi took to social media, expressing his relief: “Anyways, the rape charge against me has been withdrawn!”
While the case may have been temporarily dropped, both parties’ next moves remain to be seen, and Itumeleng Bokaba has made it clear that she could revisit the matter when the time is right.
