South African businesswoman and owner of the Royal AM soccer team, Shauwn Mkhize, is facing the potential seizure of 13 luxury vehicles due to an unpaid tax debt of R37 million to the South African Revenue Service (SARS).

The vehicles, valued at millions of rand, include a Rolls Royce Cullinan, Porsche Urus, Mercedes-Maybach, two BMWs X6, and a BMW X5, among others. Here are the details:

SARS has filed an execution order with the Pietermaritzburg High Court to recover the outstanding tax debt from Shauwn Mkhize.

The taxman seeks to attach and confiscate the luxury fleet owned by Shauwn’s brother, Melusi Sphelele Hugh Mkhize, and her two nieces. Curator Jaco Venter was appointed to inspect Shauwn’s business premises in connection with the case.

Royal AM, which is owned by the Shandi Trust, is also embroiled in legal trouble due to an outstanding tax bill of nearly R38 million. SARS officials arrived unannounced at Shauwn and Andile Mpisane’s home but found them absent.

The tax authorities also visited Shauwn’s mansion in Sandton, Johannesburg, to serve her with documents related to the attachment of additional movable assets.

A source revealed that Shauwn had an army of private security guards who prevented the curator and SARS security personnel from entering her Sandton property. A standoff ensued, and the police were called in to prevent any escalation.

Shauwn allegedly blocked the garage windows with newspapers to obstruct the view, signalling that she had been tipped off about the impending asset seizure.

Shauwn and her estranged husband, Sbu Mpisane, remain legally married until the High Court decides on their ongoing divorce.

Mpisane, who has reportedly lost everything while awaiting the divorce settlement, was shocked to discover that SARS had seized cars registered under the new name of Shandi Trust, which includes trustees Sipokazi Zuma, Brightness Senzekile Mseleku, and Shauwn’s younger brother, Melusi Mkhize.
