Despite the recent return of load shedding, Electricity Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa remains unwavering in his belief that Eskom is heading in the right direction.
This comes after South Africa experienced a return to rolling power cuts in February, ending ten months of stable electricity supply.

Although the country is grappling with power outages again, the electricity boss’s optimism continues to shine through. He insists that Eskom is on track to overcome this challenge.

What’s Behind the Recent Power Outages?
The recent rounds of load shedding have been attributed to several factors, including unexpected breakdowns at Eskom’s power stations. These unit failures have contributed to the power shortages, prompting the utility to implement rolling power cuts to stabilize the grid.
However, the minister emphasizes that these setbacks are temporary and part of the ongoing effort to stabilize South Africa’s energy supply in the long term.
Ramokgopa’s Confidence for a Load Shedding-Free Future
Speaking to the media during the African National Congress (ANC) National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Boksburg on Saturday, the Eskom boss reiterated his belief that the country is on the brink of a lasting solution.
“I’m confident that we could be on another great run and in this run of consecutive days of no load shedding, I’m confident that I’ll come back to the country that load shedding is behind us,” he said.
