Botswana President Advocate Duma Boko has named a new cabinet following his inauguration on Friday. Boko won the election last month, bringing an end to the Botswana Democratic Party’s 58-year hegemony.

The President claims that his country is confronting a grave economic scenario, with a high unemployment rate. He claims that the incoming administration is ready to address the matter.

President Boko has informed his ministers that it will not be an easy road to walk through.

“Economic and financial situation, how dire, we will determine as we go along but it is dire. We all can appreciate it.

President Boko stated that he would expedite discussions on the sale of a stake in the diamond mining business De Beers, according to the SABC.

He emphasizes the importance of strengthening the country’s diamond skills development program.
