The murder trial of a man accused of killing Kirsten Kluyts has suffered yet another delay in the Johannesburg High Court.
Bafana Mahungela, 23, appeared in court on Monday facing charges of murder, attempted rape, kidnapping and robbery with aggravating circumstances.
The latest postponement was caused by outstanding transcripts from the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where the matter was first heard.

Mahungela appeared visibly dejected in the dock as proceedings were adjourned until Tuesday.
He is accused of murdering Kluyts in 2023. The teacher went missing while out jogging, and her body was later found in bushes near George Lea Park in Parkmore.
The case has been postponed several times, frustrating efforts to move the trial forward.

Presiding judge Ian Cox has previously expressed frustration over the ongoing delays.
Last week, the defence asked for a month-long postponement to secure funding for the case.
The trial has also drawn widespread public attention after video footage emerged showing Mahungela wearing a T-shirt belonging to Kluyts.
