The controversy erupted when Musa Khaluwa, a well-known gossiper, reported that the suspensions were due to the presenters attending ANC rallies.
He stated, “Metro FM suspends Luthando Shozi better known as Lootlove and Lamiez Holworthy for attending the ANC rallies.” This statement has not yet been officially confirmed by Metro FM or the presenters themselves.
The suspensions have ignited a firestorm of reactions on social media. Many users are questioning the fairness of the decision, citing freedom of association. One user commented, “Why? They have got freedom of association mos.”
Another added, “I assume that Metro FM is wrong. I can’t see why their attendance or political affiliation would have conflict of interest unless there is more to the story that is not said yet at this stage.”
